Good afternoon, all.. I have a question and a comment I wanted to get a group call on. I'm working up a little Dorf fury DPS/prot tank (Mid-50s right now), and more often than not I'm getting the Tank side of things in the RDF. Now, when I tank, I have a few pet peeves, and I finally made a macro-set to tell everyone at the outset. Roughly, it reads thus:
"Greetings everyone - As your tank, I want to get a few things straight right up front.
1: "GOGOGOGOGO" is the ancient Dwarvish word for "Slow down".
2: I will be watching the healer's mana, and to a lesser extent DPS mana - if it's low, I will wait for drinking.
3: If you intentionally pull it ahead of me, YOU can tank it. Yes, even bosses, and yes, even if you're the healer..
4: I'm sorry to come on so strong, but I have learned it's necessary. That said - is everyone ready?
I used to get agreements, and even occasional applause... but as I'm going up in levels, not only am I seeing more of the behaviors I despise... but people are reacting more and more nastily. I've even been kicked twice.
In short - what gives?
Forgot the comment: One group I ran into, proceeded to react by taking my peeves as an instruction manual, doing all of these things... and then wondering what happened when I stood back and let the boss eat the heals. Their response was "We thought you were kidding.
Snu?
