I'm not a person for whom numbers are everything. When I signed up for my current guild the then GL asked my opinion on loot, and I told him I really didn't care about it except as it enabled me to do my job as a raider and be part of a raiding group. And that's still true.

As far as I know, Destro is the best lock spec for DPS. I don't know much about it in depth, but 12-14k DPS in 25s does seem really low. Even as terribad BM on my hunter, which is the bottom of the barrel DPS wise, I'm doing 15k, and I just started raiding and have no raid gear yet. :3

The point was, according to WoL parses, destro locks are quite good as compared to other classes/specs, even in entry level gear. SO, if you want to go afflic, that's one thing, but the destro spec is the best for DPS.

But you weren't really helpful. You were just saying her dps was bad, and that the numbers for Destro show it being high dps, facts she already knew. And went on to talk/boast about how your undergeared hunter was better. None of which really helps her problem as a warlock. :-/

*sigh* To the point that maybe she can find help with destro, and that a spec change isn't needed. If she wants better DPS, staying how she is is the optimal choice if she can figure out what's going wrong. Switching specs may raise her current DPS, but also sets her cap for absolute DPS much lower. Does that make more sense then?

If you didn't like the way I worded it, that's fine, it was early, but the person I was actually speaking to, if she had taken offense, could just as easily communicated that, since her feeling are the only ones that matter in this case.

The bit about your hunter still seemed like unnecessary and insulting braggadocio. I realize you may have been trying to make a point about being undergeared and still doing decently (even if it was a different class), but it came across as just rude. Especially with that little emoticon you put at the end.

But, I'm not the OP so I don't know how she felt about it. (Though I did get the impression that her reaction to your comment was something like :-| just going by her response.)

BM is actually pretty solid after the patch. The buff to Aspect of the Hawk put it probably above SV single-target.

Not according to current parses. I'd be thrilled if it were though!

The problem with parses is that they don't control for gear and/or skill. The reality is that most of the top hunters with the best gear are going to be MM right now.

Zeherah (the person behind femaledwarf.com) has said that she thinks BM is probably above SV at this point.

bm is simming very well at the moment, and what I've seen from our hunters in game backs it up.
