Warlock: Demon Soul
Usually I'm pretty good at figuring this stuff out, but I have tested and googled and failed.
When I use Demon Soul with my felpuppy, do I need to manually refresh the DoTs for the extra periodic damage to take effect? For Haunt I don't, because it checks for the Haunt buff on every DoT tick. For pretty much all the other buffs, I do. Most ( Read more... )

The Affliction guide is not complete, and the comments are contradictory (as they usually are).
DPS tests on the dummy give me about 300 more dps with succi over the felpuppy. And I totally understand how she would remain the top dps choice in tank-n-spank situations.
Conditions:
1) My lock is just geared for heroics. The difference may be clearer with better gear. I won't be raiding for a few weeks but I want a solid direction to go with her. Also I like theory-crafting and optimizing.
2) despite trying to track it on these tests, I'm still not entirely sure how to time demon soul with the felpuppy, yet it's very obvious how to time it on the succi.
3) On a fight that isn't a tank-n-spank (most of them) I'm not sure how to effectively track this, but I'll be paying closer attention in the next heroic I do.
4) Seriously, can I make the succi shut up (and possibly wear something that isn't a thong)? Fixed!
