Ignore list not working?

Jan 01, 2011 12:03

Apologies if this has been posted, I checked and couldn't see one.

Does it annoy anybody else that the cross-server ignore function isn't working anymore? Cause it annoys the piss out of me. Cross-server ignore is a vital function in my life, because it means I won't ever have to group with those asshats/morons/etc again. But noooooooo, 'player ( Read more... )

I know of no official word, but it seems that if you are in the instance with the twerp in question, and do a /ignore from there, it may work -- but if you're back in your own realm, it doesn't? At least, this is what I gathered from some guildies talking about stuff.

Tried that. Multiple times. /ignore name-server doesn't work. Right-click ignore on the name in chat doesn't work. Hell, sometimes it won't let me ignore people on my own server! And my ignore list is far from full. I'm just screwed.

Also, the new forums suck. A lot. Especially the search function. It's just not my day, eeeeeeeeeesh.

Unnnngh. Sounds like it may be an intermittent bug, if it's working for some people and not others, and that's just heck to track down and kill with fire.

...I hated the old forms a lot, too. The new ones are worse? Uuuuugh. I am so going to give bad reviews to any GM who does the "post on the forums" boilerplate. Forever.

Anyway, good luck and condolences on the twerp parade!

I was able to ignore after leaving the group by scrolling up in my chat window to the last time they talked, and then right click > ignore.

It seems to be a bug because sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. :/

Of course.

Let's implement a feature AND NOT IMPLEMENT SUPPORT FOR IT.

THIS DRIVES ME NUTS. Oh, my, god. I remember the /ignore function used to work, but now every time I try lately I get the "Player not found." And even though the chances of being grouped with that random player again in the future are super slim, sometimes I need to just quiet an obnoxious person atleast for that run.

BLIZZ, Please fix this! Ughh!

Well, when I just need to not see them talking, that's what the glorious Report Spam function and its temporary ignore feature are for.

But generally if I'm pissed off enough to not want to see them talking, I'm probably not going to want to group with them again. My baby tank would fill up her ignore list pretty fast if it was working.

I've taken to turning party chat off if people are being gross/mean ;) not the most helpful when groups need to work as a team, but if they're not doing their share of the teamwork... And of course I always report obnoxious people, usually they're saying something reportable.

Only really works for your state of mind though, doesn't really help you complete the dungeon.

Eventually the report spam feature works just as well, and if need be I'll just leave (or they'll kick me wut), but the reason I use actual /ignore is because it doesn't ever group you with those people again.
