Today, I sat at working, knowing the world was changing and that when I got home, when I went to go to Azeroth, it wouldn't be the same. It really didn't hit me until I was on the bus home, looking forward to patching and seeing it all.. and my phone beeped at me. I'd signed up to follow Blizzard on twitter a while ago, and somehow, even though I took my twitter tool off the phone, I keep getting texts from only Blizzard. I got my phone out of my bag to see a text from Blizzard.
Warcraft: Patch 4.0.3a The Shattering of Azeroth is now live on North American realms. Welcome to a world forever changed. (then the link).
And that's when it really kicked in for me. I'm not sure why. Now I want to keep that text saved on my phone forever. The moment when the world changed for me. 6 years of playing WoW, and it's never going to be the way it used to be. No turning back.
Now I'm waiting for the patch to finish.. to take those brand new steps.
Am I alone in this weird sort of sense of displacement?
just for fun: cool story bro,
expansion: cataclysm
