Update Tuesday!
It's Tuesday. It's Maintenance Day. It's Patch Day. It's Community Roster day! Please update your characters with any progress you've made!
An in-game friend of mine has been off and on with WoW for as long as we've been playing (early 2005) and recently got her first 80. She decided that for the first time she wanted to take her character seriously from a PvE persepctive. I've been showing her everything I could from gems, to enchants and whatnot, while also accompanying her for some of her daily heroics. The other day she asked about raiding and what it was like, so I got together a group of friends and we tried to 8-man Naxx. We took our time and explained the fights to the few people who didn't know them. Things went very well, and we had a great time. We were running out of time before we got to the Plague wing, so unfortunately we had to skip showing her the Safety Dance, but we went and did Sapphiron. Three people had to go at that point, and then for kicks, we tried 5-manning KT. Unfortunately the fight was going to slowly as our DPS was low on top of only having 3 of them. Inevitably the healer would get ice blocked and die and it'd unravel from there, but we all had a great time and my friend got her first look at what raiding is like, with real wipes included!
From a personal update perspective, last night I ran my daily heroic and drew Occulus. I don't detest that one like others seem to, and I had queued as a tank which meant I got to be the red drake for a change. The instance went smooth as butter, but then to my surprise, my sack of goodies contained the reins for the blue drake!! After much squeeing, I rode him around a bit, but then had to put him in the stables with all my other non-310% flying mounts. SEE YOU IN CATACLYSM :P I'm now at 95/100 and can get the rest through the Argent Tournament. So close!
My last update is a grumble of annoyance. Last night my 10-man ICC raid picked up at Blood Queen who we 1-shot without any trouble. We proceeded on to Sindragosa and .. oh .. my .. god, this dragon is starting to really aggravate me. It's not so much that she's difficult, but she seems much too hard for my guild to understand. For 3 hours straight, every attempt we'd make it to the final phase, but people would inevitably stand in the wrong place and get multiple people tombed, or fail to clear their stacks of the buffet. Early on we had a couple wipes in the 6-8% range, but then regressed for a good hour. Towards the end we had a painful 1% wipe, but we didn't get her down. I'm not sure why this fight is so hard for us. Everyone knows what to do, it just doesn't happen. We have downed her twice before even. We definitely should be working on LK by now, but Sindy blocks our attempts most weeks. So frustrating!
