Disappointed in myself

Feb 07, 2010 21:32

Three guildies and I needed to do our daily random Heroic pretty late last night, so we pulled a PUG tank out of the queue for Violet Hold. My three guildies are all very, very experienced, and at least one of them, the warlock, is an e-peen porn star of sorts, all about his gearscore and his most recent unbelievable crit. The healer was an old ( Read more... )

If you feel really awful about it, could make a level 1 toon and send them an in-game mail. :)

If I've had a particularly great group with someone I will either do that or leave them a nice note on their realm forums. (Bad groups, I just try to forget about :P)

Oops just noticed you weren't quite sure of the person's name. :(

Oh well. Now you will be super pleasant in the future! :D

See, this is where I really get disgusted with myself--the reason I didn't do it? Was because I was a little intimidated by the warlock who is a teenage boy. I am quite literally old enough to be his mother and I'm letting myself get sucked into a genuinely juvenile dynamic. It was like the high school cafeteria, and the tank is saying, "Is this seat taken?" and the whole table just gives him an icy stare.

This is a great idea and I will do it in the future. Unfortunately, I cleared Recount and lost the person's name.

Aw, I should give tips to tanks I'm with rather than bitching in guild chat ("OH MY GOD A DK TANK WITH ONLY 22K HEALTH IS TRYING TO TANK HUP!"), I'm sure you just need to watch out for other tanks.

We're you in my group yesterday? :| We had a pally tank with 22k health in H-UP and I was all bitchy about it because I'm used to healing tanks with 42k health and omgwtfihavetopayattention and with the exception of one spot where I got distracted by gchat and we did all die, it was just fine and was actually kinda fun because I did have to pay attention and actually do stuff!

Nah, it was this DK tank who couldn't hold aggro on top of that, and the healer was practically in tears.

PLEASE give advice and constructive criticism when he asks.

If you pug enough with LFG, you'll find a lot of tanks who are absolutely terrible at what they do, but they're THE FUCKIN' TANK, so they're OBVIOUSLY infallible. Paladins who forget righteous fury (and deny it vehemently when you point out that all those pulls where you're pulling aggro might be going better if they turn that on). DK's tanking in blood presence. God knows how many plate wearers out there thinking "I'm in plate... I CAN TANK!" regardless that their plate is all built for dps...

When one asks you for what you noticed on his performance, he's apparently trying to be GOOD. @_@

Have you guys had tanks spamming in trade chat, selling their services? I've seen this a bit lately, where a tank is asking for 20 gold to group up with people to push them through faster.

Heard about it. I'll take my 20 minute wait in queue just on principle, thanks.

Pretty sure that's not how LFG is supposed to work.

I'd definitely give advise if possible in the future. I'd point that person over here if I knew them though (I'm from Moon Guard), but I'm sure they'll get it another way.

It's good that you care though.

I agree. As a newbie tank that just hit OL, I would like it if the party tells me what can I further improve on instead of snotty remarks.

What they said. I'm forever grateful to the pally in BC who told me what I was doing wrong with my druid heals. Admittedly, it would have been better if he'd used a bit less profanity, but I did learn. :)
