Is it time to move on, or just settle?

When I first started playing WoW a few years ago, a friend asked me to roll on his server. Knowing little about end-game content, progression, and servers in general, I did so, and I've been on my back-water, dead realm ever since.

My server seems to destroy any promising guild that may happen to transfer/form there, as there are very few

Do you mean this site? I'd almost feel bad trying, our server is so pathetic. A lot of good guilds that transfer over end up transferring off eventually, it's that bad.

That is a good idea though, one I really hadn't though of. Guess I'll have to talk to my officrs and see what exactly it is we're needing the most.

I'd give it about a month, to see if this new blood pumps some life back into your guild. If things don't look like they're improving, I'd start looking for a transfer, with an eye to leaving an alt behind to talk to people on. That's also just what I'd do.

How important are your friends to you? How big of a part are they in how you like playing? Are you open to making new friends? That's something only you can answer.

I once made the jump into the unknown when my raiding guild disbanded. All my friends were on that realm and I could have stuck around and joined a casual guild with my mates, but I wanted to raid properly so I picked a realm and checked what guilds it had, and found one that piqued my interest. When I migrated I knew nothing about the realm I was moving to, I trusted the guild would become my new home and I wouldn't have to worry about the lack of familiar names on my friend list

If it doesn't work out, look for a better realm. I used to play on one of those raiding vacuum low-pop fail servers. I am SO glad I moved to a higher pop server. Recruitment is so much easier, pugs are better, etc.
