How can I play WoW in window mode?

Hit Esc to get the main menu options screen and then hit the video settings button. The video settings box will pop up. Near the top, right hand corner of it there will be a check box to toggle on or off windowed mode.

For a PC, I think you hit alt+tab to toggle between full and windowed mode. On a mac you hit command+m to toggle between the two.

She's talking about playing in Windowed mode, not minimizing the window. :)

I was under the impression was windowed mode, was when the window was made smaller?

I honestly dont see the point of windowed mode in WoW. When I played Everquest many moons ago when you played in full screen you were locked into the game and couldnt alt-tab. Windowed mode was added so people could get out of the game without completely logging off. On WoW I play in full screen mode and have no problems with alt-tabbing.

When playing in windowed mode (atleast on EQ, havent tried it on WoW) your screen will show the program bar at the top and task bar at the bottom of the screen. May be different depending on how your computer is set up.

I've also found that windowed mode tends to decrease my FPS, though this obviously will vary, depending on your computer's specs.

My FPS usually gets much better when I'm in windowed mode.

I use Windowed mode if I want to look something quest related quickly, or usually if someone is talking to me on IM.

There are other communities for this sort of thing. worldofwarcraft, wow_ladies, wow_doth, wow_dota + about 50 more here:

Try searching through the interest keys of certain communities. They're more accurate than that p.o.s. search engine.
