Frustration
I was going to write this for wow_ladies but I figured it's better to whine here, where there's less chance to annoy anyone. :p
I'm frustrated with my guild right now. Out of the guild of 26 members, we have only 2 really active members (myself and 1 other) and 2 others who are online fairly regularly but rarely speak in the guild. When the guild was created, my friend said we needed to make one so that we could have what we're looking for. So, we created Shattered Dawn which was to be a heavy role-playing guild that had dungeon runs and other things for their members. We recruited a few people, created a setting for the Guild, and tried to get things happening. Most of the guild members didn't bother logging in, so the guild sat in silence mostly. We got a member who was full of ideas, and he was promoted to an Officer. For the longest time, there was only 2 members active - me and him. The guild master, my best friend In Real Life, has been really busy with work and life lately that he hasn't been around. My life got busy offline; my husband got really sick and was hospitalized, so I didn't have time to devote to the guild.
The other night I spoke to my best friend, the Guild Master, and asked him about the guild. He suggested going from In Character guild chat to Out of Character guild chat with In Character guild channel. Me, I'm going to have to do some heavy recruiting. No one in the guild even looks at our website, though I've asked and asked for members to check it out. I'm not sure how to make the guild interesting. We need more members to be able to run storylines and get people involved - but we need a storyline or idea to get people interested in the guild. It's a total catch 22. =(
So now I'm thinking that I may take my little mage - a level 9 blood elf guy; my first male character - and see about finding a role-playing guild I can be part of, that can accept me as a casual player since the little mage is just one of my many alts. Everyone else - my girls - are all in my guild (Shattered Dawn) . I don't want to take any of them out of it, but I do want to have some more fun.
Bleh.. Any of you Moon Guard folks know of any guilds that are heavy RP, fun-filled, and looking for members - who wouldn't mind taking someone who's a casual player and a very low-level characer? *sighs*
