I dunno, I sometimes rag on people in bgs about their language. But mostly I play with friends I've brought into the game. I'd be better at progression if I had friends who actually played well (I mean, gah, they have me as mentor!). Or if I wasn't thin skinned in LFR/D.
I enjoy watching the DotA & friends in raid but I don't know what name on vent goes with what toon and I get that there are a lot of RL or at least long term VL friends and I mostly feel like an outsider. Plus I suck. Maybe less than I used to but I still struggle. After 6-7 years or whatever you'd think I'd figure things out better. I wish I had a local friend who knows about UIs and macros and all the things I read about but mostly fail at. I use mostly the basic UI and the last macro I made was to counter bonespikes in ICC. *sad grin*
Core the Loot Hound won't let me log in, but I couldn't make it Friday anyway.
Gah, sorry. I'm a bit down. I have an appt with a pain clinic on Friday to try to do something about my current level of pain. I've been practically housebound with sciatica and joint pain since last December (if I can't feel my right foot, I don't drive). But I have a new wheelchair that can go on the bus. And maybe Dr. Li will turn out to be amazing. It could happen, right? Also, it is Samhain/Halloween weekend and next week is a new year. Maybe next week I can even manage a New Year's resolution.
I'm sorry you're feeling down! Pain certainly colors things. I had sciatica but only for a few months, and I remember how terrible it was. :( I hope your new doctor can help!
I have a hard time keeping track of the non-DotA people in raid, too. I like hearing the banter.
I use few macros for PvE (when I did PvP as unholy in DotH, I made more use of them--gotta reel 'em in with death grip and freeze with chains of ice!). I had a healing one that summoned a ghoul, made a blood pact with it (to heal me), and added Gift of the Nauru for a tiny HoT on top of it. I can't remember which macros my Proudmoore hunter has though (she was the toon I raided on most in the last 6 months of MoP after DotA stopped raiding). As for UI, mine is UGLY! But at least it worked for me. I ended up putting all my combat key binds on the left side of the keyboard so I could have my right hand free for the mouse. I don't think I've raided since late spring though, so my muscle memory isn't there anymore.
Thank you. New doc can't help because of insurance tangles. Good thing we're raiding tonight to I'd probably have a date with a whiskey bottle. Not really. Just this day is so fired.
