Guild Communication

Oct 16, 2012 09:23

Hi all!

The officers wanted to try to start a discussion about the way we communicate as a guild outside of the game. It used to be that LiveJournal was a really busy place, and while some of us still regularly visit the site, others only visit LiveJournal occasionally or not at all. (Yes I realize there is some irony in writing this post on LiveJournal and hoping people who don't use LiveJournal regularly will read it. :P)

There are obviously a lot of different options for communicating and increasing communication, from using social media to augment livejournal posts and guild MotDs to moving away from LiveJournal and to a real forum or something of the sort.

Just looking for feedback - do you check LJ on a regular basis, and if not, why? Would using twitter, facebook, and/or other social media outlets to point you to posts on LJ help out? Would you prefer to move away from using LiveJournal as our main method of communication?

At the very least, the officers would probably start using social media sites to help bring more attention to posts here (both information posts like this and also raid signups etc), but if you have any other ideas or you feel strongly about moving to a different forum, we'd like to hear from you on that too.

If you know someone in DotA who does not check LiveJournal frequently, please direct them to this post! Thanks :)
