“Your laundry is done, folded, and put away, your bed is made, dinner’s in the oven, and that drip is no longer rusting away your countertop,” Ryan said exasperatedly, “I honestly wonder about how you can live like this sometimes.”

There was no thought of ruining their friendship in the gradual shift from just partners to lovers, it was so slow and natural that neither stopped to think of it.

Ryan froze in the suspect’s crosshairs, counting the seconds until Esposito was supposed to be in position, believing that they would be fewer than the seconds until the suspect decided a dead cop wasn’t too much to add to multiple homicide charges.
