Checks and balances

My life feels to be rather unbalanced at the moment, I am in debt on the sleep front, obviously the night duty is a cause, but also the effects of bright light and heat make it hard to catch up even when I am home. I am also in overdraft mode at the bank, not helped by being tired and making poor decisions which end up wasting money.
Are there areas in my life that are in credit? Well I am owed a lot of time off, and I am carrying some extra kilos... perhaps it all balances out, although I personally believe that I would love to reverse the situation.
I have been brewing again, making kefir and kombucha in an effort to find more “health” and drink stuff that contains no alcohol. I had been disappointed by the results and splashed out on a book to help, and so far I am pleased. I have made raspberry and hibiscus kefir which is delicious and I am experimenting with rose petal and aniseed kefir, which is very pretty.

I have also started a ginger bug... grated ginger and sugar and water left to ferment naturally, which I will be able to judge in about five days.

My recent kombucha had tasted like fizzy vinegar, but I am trying keeping it in a cooler place to see if I can control the acidity, and next batch I want to try the kombucha chai, with spices added to the tea from the beginning.
The weather is very oppressive and I can’t take the dogs out for proper walks because the asphalt is too hot for paws, so they just get to run around the rec.
I had started to make soup with a leftover chicken carcass from when Raph was staying, but having boiled it up I failed to do the next stage in a suitably timely manner and I decided not to risk it, and ended up giving it to the dogs. They were grateful. Here is a picture of Marco digesting.

Ok I am back to work after my two nights off, this is the door to the changing room at the convalescence home.

I haven’t seen any priests so far!
