On the 18th of January I did the final stage of moving when I collected the cats. I had imagined lots of problems, but actually they seemed happy to be here and Marco was very pleased to have them around. Well I say that but then on the second night after they arrived we were all settling down to sleep and he stood up and urinated on the middle of the bed. Hmm, difficult to stay calm in this situation, and I am afraid that I didn’t. In fact I went a bit ballistic and then slept badly and arrived at work at 6.15 somewhat out of sorts.
Two nights later he did the same thing again but this time while I was brushing my teeth. Since then no one sleeps with me in my room, and surprisingly’ or maybe not being as I was pretty annoyed, Marco hasn’t made a fuss about sleeping in the sitting room.
We have good days and less good days, however he is less anxious about me going to work and relieving himself less and in more appropriate places. I prepare him special food and I hide treats around the place, and as long as I am not delayed he doesn’t do too much damage, although he did destroy my daffodil bulbs and a refill of clothes washing liquid all over the parquet.
The cats were meant to stay shut in for at least a week, but Heathcliff managed to open an inaccessible window in the cellar and disappear within days of arriving. Of course I assumed the worst, and of course he was back the next day. I think that they are all quite settled here, because they have all been very laid back, and that is without Feliway!

Today I was working an early shift after a late shift on Sunday which meant I could arrive an hour later. At six I took Marco out for a quick run and realised that there was quite a lot of snow falling. Marco was not impressed despite the fact that I had insisted he wear his coat. The drive to work was challenging and I was really pleased to be only 5 km from my workplace. Some colleagues were unable to get in, and tomorrow is likely to be the same...

Shortly after I got home the electricity went off so I decided to take doggo out. It was beautiful if cold.

We had nearly completed the walk when I realised that I had dropped my glasses and I had to turn around and walk all the way back which meant that a walk that should have been an hour and a bit took two hours and twenty five minutes, but against the odds I did find my glasses and they were undamaged. I debated wit’s myself whether it would be best to go home and pick up a spare pair because I really cannot see much without my glasses but time was running out and I didn’t want to be looking in the dark.

Here they are !
