So I am a grumpy person who is always complaining about work, and colleagues and wishing her life were different. I finally have made some decisions about what I want, within the bounds of possibility, and I talked to the director of nursing care, and I have been accepted for a place in the nursing pool. I realised that a job that involves changing wards on a regular basis was the one most likely to suit me, because I get bored, and I get bogged down by ward politics, and I just want to go in, do the caring and get out again. This job requires me to work in Leyme, but I have requested a room on-site and that has been accepted. I start as soon as I can be replaced in the job I am doing now...and they are interviewing for my post on Monday!
I will probably start complaining once I start, but for the moment I am really happy to know that I am not stuck in my present post for ever more!
I do have logistical problems to sort out, notably Guinny, during the time when Christopher goes to Trinidad, but I am hoping I can find a solution for that when the time comes...
Other news, I had a family holiday with Rosie, Polly and Raph, (plus James of course!)
James found us a gite on AirB&B, which was perfect.
4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and accepting of dogs!
Rosie had planned we would have family fun with a jigsaw, 5000 pieces of the Tower of Babel...
Day 2 we had managed to get the edge done.
James and I had matching boots which caused me a little bit of confusion, before I realised.
We were 50 metres from the beach, and so I really enjoyed walking along the coast.
Sometimes with Polly,
Always with Guinny!
These stones are called the six monks, and there was a legend involving a man trying to build a bridge to the Ile de Yeu, with help from the devil...usual stuff, except there still isn't a bridge to the island.
James and Raph have matching phones!
On the Saturday we all went for a walk together...I took a picture beforehand, but then didn't take any more. I think James took some, and so did Raph. Maybe they will share them?
Rosie tried to teach me how to take a good selfie, the quality on this is not so good, because it was on "live", but I am happy to have the group shot!
In the end we had to give up on the tower, much like the original builders! However Rosie encouraged us to put it all away in sections, so it will be easier next time we all get together!
I have been rather silent recently, but I am hoping to be a bit more interactive now that things are a bit more dynamic.
