Pairing: Siwon/Han Geng, Sichul friendship

Idiots. I’m surrounded by idiots. One who mopes around for months because his fiancée left him on his wedding day, the other who’s completely in love with the first idiot and mopes because Prince Charming is being an dark cloud of emotion and because he doesn’t have enough balls to confess his feelings. Honestly, I don’t know which one’s stupider.

Siwon had a pretty good idea of what was supposed to happen on his wedding night, despite being a virgin. His present location and company, however, were nothing like what he expected. Instead of being at a hotel suite with his wife, he was sitting on his best friend’s bed, wearing a look of shock and disbelief that hadn’t left his face since earlier that afternoon.

“I, uh, made you some rice. You must be hungry, you haven’t eaten since this morning,” Geng said as he placed a tray on the table by the bed. Siwon barely nodded, eyes not leaving their spot on the wall.

Geng sighed, hating to see him like this. “I’ll let you have the bed, I’ll just sleep on the couch.” This seemed to knock Siwon out of his trance and a look of panic appeared on his face. “NO! I - I mean, could you stay here? I just.. don’t want to be alone.” Geng nodded, feeling his heart break at Siwon’s words.

He wordlessly climbed into the bed, not knowing if Siwon wanted comfort or to be left alone. His answer came in the form of muscular arms wrapping around his torso, pulling him close. “Talk about something, anything. I just want to forget. Tell me a story about China.” Geng worried how he could possibly concentrate on breathing, much less talking, when Siwon was this close. Aiyo, he’s in pain and you’re concerned with your stupid crush. Geng somehow found his tongue and told Siwon of beautiful mountains and rivers until they both fell asleep.

Months passed and nothing changed. Heechul had had enough of watching two of his best friends suffer needlessly. Siwon moped around constantly, only doing the most basic daily routines. Siwon’s depressed mood took an equally heavy toll on Geng, who felt guilty anytime he experienced anything akin to happiness when Siwon was so miserable. It became obvious that to Heechul if he wanted either of them to quit being throwing pity parties and finally have sex, he’d have to make it happen himself.

Heechul walked into Siwon’s bedroom and opened the curtains quickly. Siwon let out a loud groan and pulled the covers over his head.

“Oh no you don’t,” Heechul said as he ripped the covers off Siwon.

“Ugh, what do you want, hyung? It’s too early.”

“Wrong, it’s two in the afternoon. Now get your ass out of bed and stop acting like a wounded animal all the time, I’m sick of it.”

“You’re sick of it? I’m the one wh-”

“Who was left. Seven months ago. I’ve got three words for you: Get. Over. It.”

“How can you say that? She hurt me, I don’t care if it was twenty years ago, it still hurts.”

Heechul rolled his eyes. “Well what about the people you’re hurting?”

Confusion flitted across Siwon’s face. “What are you talking about? I’m not hurting anyone, I’m -”

“The hell you’re not. Are you seriously that blind? My God, Siwon, I didn’t think you were this dumb.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about Han Geng you idiot. He’s your best friend, remember him?”

“What does any of this have to do with Geng?” Siwon questioned.

Heechul shook his head. “Wow, you really are this dumb.”

“Tell me what this has to do with him.”

“It has everything to do with him. Don’t you see how depressed you’re making him? Both of you?”

“Why should he be depressed, it’s not like he ever had someone leave him.”

Heechul snorted. “Yeah, because he’s never had the luxury of having the person he loves to begin with.”

“Look, I don’t have the slightest clue what you’re saying. If Geng loved somebody, I would know about it, so if you’re done bothering me, I’d -”

“Not if it were you.”

Siwon’s eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. “Ok, now I really don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“It’s you. Geng loves you.”

“What?”

“Geng. Loves. You. Seriously, start listening to me every once in a while.”

“What do you mean he ‘loves’ me?”

Heechul smacked his palm against his forehead. “I mean he wants to marry you and have lots of sex with you and make little babies with big eyebrows that use their hands to speak and -”

“He loves me?”

“Are you having trouble hearing me?! YES, GENG LOVES YOU, YOU IDIOT.”

Siwon stood up and sat back down, mouth opening and closing.

“I’m an idiot.”

Heechul smirked. “Finally, you understand.”

Siwon stood up and began frantically running around the room, trying to get dressed, comb his hair, brush his teeth, and shave simultaneously.

It was now Heechul’s turn to be confused. “Wait, what are you doing?”

“I’m going to his house, what does it look like I’m doing?”

“It looks like you’re running around like an idiot. Why are you going there?”

“Bekauahwoehim,” Siwon said through a mouthful of toothpaste.

“Um, what?”

Siwon spit out the toothpaste and tried untangling the bush that was his hair. “Because I love him. I’ve always loved him, I just, I never knew he - I’m such an idiot.”

“Don’t be too hard on yourself. To be fair, you’re in love with an equal idiot; it’s no wonder you aren’t together.”

Siwon smiled for the first time in months. “Do I look all right?”

“As good as you can with that awful hair.”

Siwon quickly slipped into the first pair of shoes he found and headed out the door.

“Hey, Heechul?”

“Yes?”

“Thanks.”

“Yeah, yeah. Remember this, I definitely will.”
