45+ Laus Deo +

Mar 11, 2009 15:35

Are there any out there who are celebrating the entire forty days of Lent? Any? I feel as though I would have more luck seeking out an echo.

In light of recent events, allow me to say that I have nothing to hide. I will tell no lies.

holier than thou, holy holy holy, father, no curse, sigh

I've never really understood the purpose of Lent.

Do you understand redemption? Sacrifice?

Yes, but I don't really see what God has done that I should give anything up for him. After all, he gave me red hair.

Red is a color found in nature. It's made and loved just as much as every color by the creator. You are a work of art to Him. God sent his one and only son to die for sin so that you don't have to.

Someone like me is hardly a work of art. And if Jesus died for my sins, it didn't work. No matter how hard I try, I'm still sinful.

You were made in His image. Interesting for a person to dispute that.

Ah. There's been a misunderstanding, child. He died for sin so that you do not have to die for sin.

I've never understood how I could be made in His image. I don't look like a man, do I?

But I'm going to die anyway, so I don't see what good his death did me.

Literal thinking does make the text more complicated than it needs to be. His image also means the image that He felt would best suit the creation of a little girl that he intended for you to become.

Is that so.

I'd like to know why He thought red hair and freckles were a good idea.

Isn't it? I've known a lot of good Christian people, and they all died. So what good did Jesus' death do?

There are many with similar features to yours. There will be many after you. I don't have an answer for your question. Be appreciative of your health and youth.

They die and join God in Heaven if they are good Christian people. That is not true death, just death of the body. If it were not for Jesus, those souls would just go to the abyss.

It'd be much easier to appreciate my health and youth if I was beautiful too.
