last sight of zurich, onward to:
munich, germany
i spent my 21st birthday at a concentration camp.
germans are kind of weird...
fun in museum bathrooms. mirrored metal in front of the urinals, maybe so you can think 'wow, now THATS a work of art'
onward to the czech republic
prague
prague train station was crazy, actually, i guess just prague was kinda crazy
lost in some small town with a philip morris cigarette factory. air reeked of tobacco, you could feel the health.
the town also contained a church decorated top to bottom with human bones
yet another concentration camp
this tunnel seemed to never end and i got really creeped out at some points and had to yell 'heyy wait up' to the others. its an und.erground passage where they took the prisoners. on the other end is where they were executed
this cat was waiting for me at the bus stop and totally made my day, i kept thinking about how if he wasn't there i probably would have been really pissed off waiting for that bus and i was probably ready to kill some of my co-travelers.
back to germany, to berlin
interesting. you either get chocolate, or a knife
fun in museums with drugs
os gemeos!
auaaghgefasd so many amazing shoes in this city
back to italy.
meanwhile, three days spent between trips back in florence. my parents came to visit, and we finally had some good weather so i painted alot.
sevilla
so i was supposed to meet up with russ while he was on his spring break in sevilla, spain, but it turns out he had crazy flight problems and had to change his plans. i, however, still had functional tickets and decided to go anyways. we had already contacted some writers in the area, so it wasnt like i was going to be alone without plans all weekend. i guess all i have to say is that sevilla was by far my favorite place ive visited in europe so far.
anyways, some photos...
another plane. over some farm stuff in spain
i wasnt meeting up with the spanish graf kids until later, so i rented a bike from my hostel and explored the city. i rode up and down the river-side where there was mindblowing graffiti, crazy looking bridges, and this smashed car that i stumbled upon. there was a major road next to the river, which this guy must have flipped from. it was still dripping wet when i found it, they must have just pulled it out. anyways, i talked to some old guy about what must have happened in very broken spanish, tagged it, snapped some photos, and then bounced hardcore as the tow truck rolled up.
view from my amazing hostel. this was right outside my room.
i met up with some spanish graffiti artists that i had contacted through the internet, they were the nicest people in the world even though only 2 spoke english well. we drove around for a good amount of the night, meeting more and more writers everywhere we went, then they took me to this abandoned construction site next to some big highway. we threw our bags up and then had to climb up the wall right next to speeding traffic to get in.
a bit too dark to get anything too perfect accomplished however...
lit by reflections of neon signs and head lights
yeah.
the next day two of them took me to this huge outdoor party to celebrate the coming of spring. typical lame group photo, i didnt want to post it but whatever, l to r piano, nameiforget, caracol, caracol's girlfriend, and then me looking white as hell.
my goofy spanish friends. again, the nicest people in the world
an amazing place. i definately did not feel like going back to florence
beautiful losers, milan, italy
the good thing about going back, however, is that my flight flew into milan, where, it was the second to last day of the beautiful losers show. if you dont know what beautiful losers is you should do a search on it, it shows some of the most important underground skateboard/punk/graffiti culture artists of the past decade plus.
they told me 'no photo' at the door, but after seeing the whole show i decided it was worth some risk.
kaws
glen e. friedman. like i said, there was some big deal stuff here
for jen, a whole room of giant custom bearbricks
ed templeton

that was all i could get and then my battery died just as i was about to get yelled at by the guard.
im back in florence now and ready to lay low for the week.
probably an art-based post to come next maybe.
sorry this shit was so huge...
