NEWS no Dreamland - Chapter 1
It's been a while since I last wrote a NEWS fanfic! I decided to write a new one because I kept on thinking about it everyday even when I'm working, it was starting to annoy me because I didn't know what to do to get rid of these thoughts so finally I'm taking this chance to write it down. I decided to put the colors on each member's sentence to identify them *LOL* instead of yellow I used orange in Massu's part. This first chapter is about Shige <3
Summary: After the annoucement of NEWS comeback, the 4 boys are involved into a new project. The "BEST ALBUM" was a huge success and the number of their fans keeps on increasing. They've given a chance to have their own regular tv show just like the other groups, having the chance to travel and entertain the public. They didn't know that while walking on this new and wonderful path, love will also cross their ways leaving them astonished, confused and speechless.
" Subarashii!" - Shige exclaimed, delighted to capture such a beautiful scenery.
It's been already 5 months since NEWS finally announced their comeback and after the release of their BEST ALBUM their schedule are so packed up that they hardly have some free time for themselves.
Right now they are having a short break from filming their new variety program called "NEWS no Dreamland". It's a show where the 4 members have to complete the missions they are assigned for each episodes bearing the punishments if they fail, there will be episodes featuring just a single member where he shows his favourite places trying to communicate more with their fans. Basically it's a new program of NEWS since the last one they had was Soukon, the privilege about this new experience is they can travel around Japan and also give their fans a new way to see and know them more.
Shige clicked so many times the button of his black Canon camera to take every single picture of the beautiful sunset on Okinawa's beach. It was amazing how the sky changes its color when the sun rise in the early morning and sets down when the moon is ready to replace its place. The night sky was tinted with random shades of purple,speckled orange-red and also splashes of pink while the sun was cloaked by the hanging few clouds, accompanying it like a soft pillow. The sound of the waves reaching the light beige fine sand was like music to his ears and the few yellow ray of lights of the sun peeking on the tender clouds reflected on the water. He was enchanted by that breathtaking scenery and cannot stop himself from taking pictures of it in different angles.
"Mizuki"
Shige raised his eyes from the camera when he heard a woman's voice. Not far from him, near the foreshore there was a girl with long brown straight hair standing in a huge rock facing the sea.
"Yes?" the girl turned around and looked at her mother
"In a while we need to go"
"Okay, just few more minutes" she said as she lays her eyes on the magical view.
Without thinking Shige raised his hands and positioned his left eye on the reflex finder of his camera, taking a picture of the girl as she stares the wide sea. Not feeling satisfied by the shot that he just took, he zoomed the lenses and once again he secretly took a picture of the mysterious girl while she sweetly smiles with the night sky on her background. With that last shot the girl turned his back on him and walked towards the car which was waiting for her.
"Shige!" Koyama tapped on his shoulder "What are you doing?"
Caught off guard, Shige quickly turned his camera off as he realized what he just did feeling embarassed by his own actions.
"Nothing" he answered back, trying to compose himself "I was just taking some pictures"
"Oh let me see" Koyama smiled, he raised his right hand trying to grab his camera but Shige hid it behind his back which surprised him
"Maybe later" Shige cracked a smile and started to take a few steps far away "Where is Tegoshi and Massu?" he asked, trying to change the topic "It's dinner time, let's eat."
When they reached the others in the small cottage near the beach, the air was filled by the smell of the food. The staff were already eating and having fun while they chat and drink beer. Tegoshi's soundful laugh re-echoed in the place while he jokes and fool around with the director while Massu is near the grilling grid waiting for the meat to be cooked.
"Kato-san, Koyama-san have a sit here" their manager waved at them
"Sorry, we're late" Shige sat on the vacant chair and started eating with gusto "Hmm oishii!" he exclaimed while chewing the grilled and soft meat. His manager handed him a bottle of beer and they had a toast with everyone
"Shige let me borrow your camera" Tegoshi stared at him with his beautiful set of eyes "I want to take some pictures" a playful grin designed his lips as he grabs Shige's camera and started to take some stolen shots of the staffs
"Oi!!" Massu pointed at Tegoshi while this one was having fun on taking pictures of him, his laughter filled the place "Delete that!"
"C'mon you're still handsome even if you have your mouth wide open while devouring the food" he laughed even more while looking at the picture
"Let me see" Massu walked towards him and also laughed when he saw his own picture "Let me see the others that you took"
The two were laughing like silly kids as they look at Tegoshi's paparazzi pictures, he was pressing so fastly the button to look at the past shots when they run into Shige's pictures.
"What was that?" Massu asked when he barely saw a weird picture "Go forward" he said to Tegoshi
"Who's this?" Tegoshi wrinkled his brows while they were looking at the picture of a girl on the screen of Shige's camera "She's cute" he then added
"Um" Massu nodded "Isn't this picture taken in this beach?"
"Shigeeeeee!!!" Tegoshi shouted,raising the camera letting the staff see through the screen "Who is this girl?"
Shige opened his eyes wide and stood up from the chair, he then walked fast towards Tegoshi and snatched from his hand the camera.
"What are you doing?"
"Why are you acting like that?" Tegoshi asked back "You're acting weird"
"G-Gomen" he whispered "It's just...I was surprised"
"Who is she?" Massu asked too
"I don't know her, I just saw her few hours ago at the beach"
"Ohh" Tegoshi smiled, pleased by Shige's behaviour "She's pretty, if you see her again back me up" he teased him
"Tegoshi you're hopeless" Koyama shaked his head then he stared at his friend, Shige indeed acted weird "Stop teasing him"
Shige looked again at the girl's picture. Even him didn't know why he took those pictures, neither why he still didn't delete them. He was convincing himself that it's the magical view's fault that guided his fingers to take those shots.
But Tegoshi was right, that girl is really pretty. The sad truth is he will never have the chance to meet her again, the only thing that he knows is her name, Mizuki.
