I don't know if I want to do livejournal anymore. I tried to have fun and meet new people but no one seems to like me. I guess I didn't understand how the friend thing worked. Wow, I read what happened and I dipped a bit into the journal from which you got shoved out of and I have to say that some people are downright rude. I am truly sorry that the actions of overly sensitive people who believe LiveJournal is built simply for them have brought you close to leaving. That's not fair and I'm totally sure this is an isolated incident. 99 percent of the people who use LJ are not like this. LiveJournal is a social place and people reading other people's journals is part of the fun. Anyone who flips out that harshly over being friended needs a reality check. I understand privacy and all that, but if this person doesn't want people friending her/him, they has options to keep the rest of us away. It confuses me that the journal in question has been running for three years and the person is just now realizing that people can come in and read stuff. Shocking. And yes, it is sad.

I guess the lesson to be learned here is that it helps to talk to people first before friending them. It can be as simple as a journal comment to state your existance and interest. But don't give up on LJ just yet! Not everyone is like that!
