Internships and More
The whole year of 2011 has been and is going to be the year of taking time off school to do internships. Here are the recent highlights of my life:
1. Internship with Red Dot Photo
A start-up company dealing with photography - online portal with forum, publication, guide for photographers and e-commerce. As an intern, my role was in design, marketing and publications. For publications, I consistently wrote articles such as product reviews, advertorials of the company's products and interviews with photographers. For design and marketing, I designed online web banners and marketed the company through its website and other channels so as to create brand awareness and a higher social media presence.
2. Internship with Grey Group
I'm really excited to start this internship in August as it has always been my dream to work in an advertising agency. My role is of an account coordinator, serving a client, acting as an intermediary between client and internal agency. I will be working on tearsheets, competitor research and briefs.
3. My first taste of Australia - Melbourne
I just got back from Melbourne. It was a 7 days trip and my favourite part was a day trip around the Great Ocean Road, including seeing the famous 12 Apostles. The shopping and food were fantastic as well. And it was pretty cccolddd.. But not as bad as NY.
