Pineapples are an odd sort of fruit. They’re spiky and rough on the outside, but once you get inside that outer barrier, pineapples are sweet with a hint of sour and are oh-so-easy to fall in love with.
Carlton Lassiter, Head Detective of the Santa Barbara Police Department stands over the brown-haired and tan-skinned form lying tangled in his bed sheets and drooling on his pillow. A smile spreads across his face.
The rumors were true after all; Shawn Spencer was a fruit.

Nathan Stark is the kind of guy that gets on Jack Carter’s nerves. He’s always got that Cheshire cat grin on his face and Jack always feels like he’s missing a joke. Jack is happy to see Nathan tonight, though. He’s happy to have someone to discuss losing Zoë with; somebody who knows what it feels like to be separated from the one thing that keeps you hanging on.
Jack is even happier to see Nathan when he learns that after being hit in the head by that damn machine, he doesn’t have a concussion.
Jack isn’t sure if he should be happy when Nathan leans in and presses a soft kiss to Jack’s lips as he leaves after four hours of talking.
Jack thinks that maybe, someday, that Cheshire cat grin will stop annoying him and make him smile instead.
