Hot Hot Heat "Dirty Mouth" It's off of Elevator, which as a whole, is suprisingly good. Its a fun song...reminds me of really simple mid nineties alternative with a dance vibe. GREAT song to sing and drive to.
Kings of Leon "The Bucket" Just found out the name yesterday. Heard it on a friends mix cd. It only adds to the amazing. Normally I'd have sung along but I was too awed. Constant mental soundtrack. Chill. Easy. Kind of easily relate-able.
The Blood Brothers "Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck" There are some fucking absoutely amazing lyrics in this. (EXE-"Somethings never get better. Like used cars and bad livers"......."Yesterday you gave your burden a name, Yesterday you gave your burden a face, But your burden looks an awful lot like her." Fucking Christ thats scathing.
Sonic Youth "Radical Adults Lick Godhead Style" off or Murray Street. It's climatic. It bulids from this simple little chill riff. Then it explodes. Then it dissolves. Basically a pristine example of why I fucking love Sonic Youth.
Slint "Carol" If you don't know who Slint is or are only familiar with music from this months AP and on, put down your Senses Fail Cd (in a fire, preferably) and go out and buy Tweez. This song is creepy as hell and Tweez is on the table more than anything else at the moment.
Pinback "This Red Book" Disturbing. Powerful. It makes me uneasy as hell. A great smoking song. The other nine songs on the Cd are equally amazing. Buy it (The Album is Summer In Abandon). If you hate it I will apologize. Please Buy it, don't burn or download it.
