Thank you very much :-) I'm glad it seems to have come across as it was in my head! I tried to keep it shorter, but those interactions between them all refused to be left out. You're right, it's an accumulation of so many little weaknesses in the individuals and stresses in their relationships that made them prey to later events, or at least that's the way it works for me rather than one or more dramatic events.

Remus and Peter both have that secretiveness and lack of trust in common, which is what breaks down here. And yes, since I'm a firm believer in Sirius/Remus (of course) it does amuse me to think of Sirius reacting like that Not really one for self-analysis, is he ;-)

This is the only smut so far on the Peter TM stuff, I have to warn you the rest is very much gen, with slashy hints leading to this one in two of them. 'Changes' is almost all just Peter, though Remus is there at the end, and there is one more before it that fits in this sequence, which is 'Sharing Secrets'. That one is all four of them and fills in one gap that might shed a little more light on what happens here (Peter's 'girl' and why he reacts as he does to Remus mentioning her.)

I really should put summaries on these, thanks for the reminder! I've been *so* lazy, and I hate writing summaries ;-)
