Title: Birthday Wishes
Characters: Peter, James, Remus, Sirius
Word Count: 100
Challenge: Wishful Thinking

It was a classroom assignment in charms their first day of their fourth year. They had been discussing wishes.

“I wished for a Cleansweep once,” James said.

Sirius smirked. “You should have wished for brains.”

“What’s the matter?” Remus said.

“I wished for something once, but it’s really silly now.”

“Go on, Petey, what did you wish for?” said James. Peter turned red and whispered- “Love.”

The three boys were silent for a moment before they burst into peals of laughter. Peter joined in. It was only wishful thinking after all.

It was a classroom assignment in charms their first day of their fourth year. They had been discussing Birthday Candles and wishes. It was a debate whether the class thought that a birthday wish was real magic or if it was just “wishful thinking”.

his book. Peter looked down, worried.

“What’s the matter?” Remus said, sounding concerned.

“I wished for something once, but it’s really silly now.”

“Go on, Petey, what did you wish for?” James’ muffled voice came from under Sirius’ body. Peter turned red and whispered- “Love.”

The three boys were silent for a moment before they burst out into peals of laughter. Peter joined in. It was only wishful thinking after all.
