1. GAWD, This week has worn me the fuck out. I will be glad when it is over. Work is its usual ghetto dramatic mess. Add to the fact that that school is starting. Why is this significant? Since I have 6 teachers/educators in my family that lives within 2 miles of me, (Mom, My two aunts, My Second Cousin (who just moved to Texas), My mom's best friend (she might as well be family), and now my sister, I am summond to help in their classrooms and do computer related stuff. I am now getting paid for this, since somehow half of my mom's school and my two aunts' schools were impressed by my design and organizational skills. This might be a pretty good business opportunity. And man do I need the money right now. I am broke.
2. I am worried to death about my niece. She has to have surgery tomorrow. I am taking off to be with her. She is my heart. I know she will be fine, but it doesn't stop the worrying.
3. Family is very important to me. Probably the most important thing. Being a cancer, family security has always been a priority. I am independent somewhat, but I would love nothing more than to have a support system when shit hits the fan. My family doesn't have to be blood related. I think anyone who tries it in the cruel hateful world alone is foolish. Everybody needs somebody. I guess that is why I yearn for a significant other so much. I see other people around me with strong bonds, and I feel I haven't established that yet. But that takes time.
4. The whole Michael Vick thing: He is wrong plain and simple. What he did to those dogs was cruel and unusual punishment. He should go to jail. That being said, I am not losing sleep over it. I am sorry that I don't feel the same way about dogs, as the PETA folks do. I am not really fond of dogs. I've been bitten three times by dogs, and two of them were from dogs of owners I have visited that said "Oh my dog never bites anybody." And don't give me that whole "Oh the dogs have to be trained to be vicious killers". Yes, it is true to an extent. Humans train dogs to be vicious killers and destroyers. However, some of the dogs, it is in its nature. Take a Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Chow, Akira, or a Doverman, put him in the wild, and let him grow up in it without human interaction, and see what you get. I mean why do dogfighters go after certain types of dogs, if it is not in the nature? You don't see two poodles going at it. Again, Vick is wrong, dead wrong.
5. Also, yes, the general public does tend to crucify minority ball players in the court of public opinion, more than their white counterparts. Perfect example is Jason Giambi versus Barry Bonds. Jason Giambi, a known steriod user and a publicly admitted one, gets off with a slap on the hand thru the eyes of the public, while Barry Bonds, which the only evidence he ever did anything is from a book by two journalists with personal vendettas trying to make some money off a book deal, which leaked grand jury testimony, people want his balls and head on a stick. Of course, there is some prejudice there. This is America, folks. Don't act like it is all honky-dory and sunshine and flowers. I mean half of y'all reading this are gay. Y'all should know. This is not the antics and imagination of an angry black man. This is real life, people. It does happen.
