In fics, it's usually Prussia and not Germany in Stalingrad, but I think in this way it might actually work better historically - Germany is young and bound to make stupid mistakes, Prussia knows better. I liked that you mentioned this. I usually send Prussia anyway, because... well, no reason, I just like it better.
“He attacks us as brutally but we have learned to be strong.”...and again, this is obvious reasonement that nobody ever makes before sending their German/French/whoever soldiers to fight in Russia, or in the same vein, their Russian/American soldiers to fight in the Afghan mountains and deserts, or their French/American soldiers to fight in the Vietnamese jungle. I like to send Prussia to the eastern front because he has more of a history with Russia, maybe he sees it as the chance to prove once and for all he is better than Russia... And because the comic makes it seem like Germany is busy with Italy and the western front.
