And it was awful.
Friday night E and I took in a double feature of Shrek 3 and Pirates. She had never been to a drive in before but was epretty excited as far as I could tell. We'd been hanging out for a few months, not dating, but going on dates? Kind of? No kissing no nothing. Two weeks ago I finally asked if this was leading anywhere besides friendship, and the answer was no. That's cool! We agreed to be friends. Technically with 'potential for more' but I'm not messing around with that bullshit ambiguity.
Lighting threatened to bring the sky down in buckets, but threaten was all it did. Earlier the day had been in the high nineties, a cold front moving in had cooled things off. Dusk settled comfortably behind the movie screen just as the projector began it's flicker. It was one of those summer nights that you hope for. Breeze capturing the smell of damp grass, teasing rain sweeping everything up.
Well, almost everything. The food at the snack bar didn't really agree with me. Since both windows were down I figured,'Hey this crazy wind will just carry this thing far far away!'. Boy was I wrong! Dead wrong.
I couldn't even look at her. My face was sweating while my mind made waving motions. I prayed for the bastard to leave as quickly as possible. My prayers went unanswered.
Double feature turned into a single feature as I found myself home by midnight. I guess I don't really like Johnny Depp that much anyway.
