FIC: "Before the Dawn"
Hi all!
I just thought I'd post a link to a S/B fic here, because even though it's not precisely a 'new' story, it's never been posted here before, (or indeed, even on my own journal!) till now, and for a many new members, it probably is a brand new fic. *smile*
This is a story written for last year's ('06) World's Finest Secret Santa Gift Exchange, where we were to claim an anonymous prompt and try our best to write it. (or draw it, as the case may be.) I chose one with a hurt/comfort theme. (as I do seem to gravitate to that sort of thing! *g*)
And so, in honour of an essay (I use the term loosely) that I wrote over at
superhero_muses this week, ("Hurting the Ones We Love ... And Then Making It All Better: A Brief Ramble on the Genre of Hurt/Comfort in the Realms of Fanfiction" - found right here, if interested!) I thought I would revise and update a couple of my stories, (including this one) and thus realized that "Before the Dawn" never got posted or linked anywhere else than at
superbatsanta. (and also stored over at the wfslash archive) and thought maybe I'd finally fix that! ;-)

Summary: When Batman discovers a deadly ambush has been set for the Man of Steel, he does everything in his power to come to his aid, though he may be too late to save him - or himself. In the course of the ordeal, he discovers what is really important, and what it is that he really wants.
