Okay since I started this thing I'll go first! I already talked about the enemies vs friends aspect a little on a previous thread. And how Wonder Woman is probably going to break up that fight pretty quickly. So I won't rehash that.

I guess first off, I'm pretty happy with everything I've seen from Batfleck so far! I was skeptical at first but he's really reminding me of Batman from the animated series - which is still my all time favorite version :) And I've loved all the previous actors who have played Alfred, but Jeremy Irons seems fantastic so far as well! It seems from this trailer that Alfred will have much more involvement operating from the Batcave and I'm excited to watch that dynamic.

Wonder Woman also seems to be getting even more kick-ass with every trailer - I still love that moment in the previous trailer when she shows up and they're like, "Is she with you?" "I thought she was with you." The versions of Superman/Batman I enjoy the most are the ones with a sense of humor in their interaction, and I'm really hoping for more of that in the movie. And that moment also reminded me that they both also dated Wonder Woman in different continuities, didn't they?

I guess what I'm more curious about personally are what comic book references might be worth boning up on before watching the movie. I've read a few and watched a lot of the animated stuff, but I'm sure there are people here that know a lot more. From the previous trailer, zombie!Zod looks a lot like Doomsday (or a Ninja Turtle on steroids), and the powersuit Batman uses looks a lot like the one from The Dark Knight Returns (which was showing on tv last night when I made this post lol) And while that's a great storyline, for a SuperBat shipper it's really just... heartbreaking :( There's also a Robin suit in the cave with Joker graffiti all over it, so I'm wondering if they're going to bring up Jason Todd in the movie.

Did anyone catch anything else?

Also just one last minor squee for the way Clark jumps into the bathtub with Lois. I may be a SuperBat shipper, but I thought that was just adorable ;p

They do seem to be going for a Dark Knight Returns feel, especially with the idea of an older Bruce who's retired from grief but finds himself drawn back in. I agree that the fighting part is really unlikely to be the climax, it's much more likely to be the beginning!

Affleck's Bruce really works for me, somehow. The scene where he runs into the dust cloud choke me up every time I see it. It is very, very Bruce.

Lex is such a shipper, my God. "God and man! Day and night!" Just admit it, Lex, you write fanfic and post it on AO3. :)

Gah, how do I quote this properly?

Anyway, haha yeah! Looks like we have Lex to thank for bringing Clark and Bruce together in the movie. Who would've thought? Lex Luthor - unsung hero of the Superbat fandom.

Actually, I don't remember where, but I read a theory that Lex may already know Supes and Bats' secret identities, and that he's actually the one goading them into a showdown with each other (for as yet unknown reasons). It does make sense though, given what Lex says when he introduces them to each other and his overeagerness about it all - on the other hand that could just be the way Lex's non-villain persona behaves lol :s

Yeah, it's possible Lex knows and is manipulating everyone. He's not very subtle about it though. Bruce, at least, should be suspicious of him. Batman's not exactly the easiest guy in the world to manipulate. But who knows? Maybe he's still upset about the deaths in his Metropolis office building and he's not thinking straight. Lex seems a tad too goofy in that scene too. Maybe he'll lose his humor when he loses his hair.

I remember now it was actually Zack Snyder who referred to Lex as a "puppetmaster" involved in this confrontation :s The goofiness does make it easier to dislike him though lol.

And yeah, if you ever do read those prequel comics, they do show that Bruce is REALLY upset about what went down in Metropolis, probably because Gotham is just across the bay in this universe, so he's pretty dead set on that not happening to his home as well :(

I usually have to hard-tag the quote I want with < i > and < / i > (without the spaces) before and after it.

And yeah, Lex Luthor, matchmaker and shipper! This is an unexpected but very welcome bonus from the movie. :)

Okay. Wow. Where do I even begin?

We've already seen this Superman so I won't comment on him anymore, only that I want to see more Clark. I felt like we didn't get to see much of Clark in MoS. It was just Superman in civvies, and then Superman in uniform. Hopefully there'll be more Clark here.

Batfleck's got the whole Arkham games vibe going on. That's the version of Batman he most reminds me of. Same thing with Alfred working as his backup in the cave. Can't wait to see their affectionately snarky interactions. It's gonna be great.

And Diana! Oh, Diana...I am so ready to see Wonder Woman on the big screen. She does get more and more badass with every trailer, you're right about that. Gal's done a remarkable job. The way she leaps into battle takes my breath away. She really makes me believe she can and will destroy them all. And we finally get to hear her say something. I thought her delivery was spot on.

It's pretty much common knowledge by now that the desert scene is a dream sequence, Batman's nightmare. But there were parademons. At least, that's what they looked like to me. How and why would Batman be dreaming about parademons? Unless it's not a dream at all but what leads into the Justice League movie where they face Darkseid. But if it's not a dream, then does that mean angry Superman really unmasks Batman in front of all those witnesses?

Other than The Dark Knight Returns and possibly A Death in the Family, I'm not sure which comics may have also influenced Zack Snyder for this movie. But I've seen a couple of YouTube comments mentioning BvS prequel comics. Anyone heard of this? Looks like another one to add to the pull list.

Finally, it just makes me so happy to see Bill Finger's name in the credits. It's long overdue. Thank you WB/DC.

Unfortunately I'm not a gamer so I'm pretty lost on gaming references. But I do love it when people piece together all the movie parts from games on youtube lol. I have read the prequel comics though! They're a fun read, but I don't think there's anything in them that won't be explained in the movie. They're mostly like day-in-the-life character explorations, covering the basic ideas they always talk about in press promos and featurettes - Batman is darker, he and the rest of the world are pissed about Metropolis, Lex is plotting etc. Lois is actually pretty badass in hers :)

You raise a good point about Clark in MoS though. Now I'm wondering if we'll ever see anything like that old Clark Kent persona again, or if he's been sacrificed in order to make Superman dark and gritty enough to fit in the same universe as Batman. Hmmm.

As for the parademons... I have no theories. They're mentioned in one of those trailer breakdowns I linked somewhere else ( here), but they didn't have much to say either than that's what they were. It does make sense to bring Darkseid in as a threat that would take the whole JL to battle. But it's also possible that the whole desert setting could be just another misdirection in editing? I'm pretty sure now that when Batman gets lasered off the side of that building during their fight it's not from Superman's eyes but from Zod-bie. So it's entirely possible that the parademons could be an entirely different part of the movie to Batman's bondage dream ;p There seems to be a lot of misdirection happening in the trailers, and people have been complaining that they gave too much away already... But I hope that isn't the case, that they gave us so much in the trailer because there's so much more in the actual movie :)

But anyway, give those trailer breakdowns a go. They've might've said something about Darkseid that I missed. And they're worth watching anyway :)

PS - Bill Finger's already been getting credited on Gotham as well! And doesn't that show just keep getting better and better?

I'm no gamer either. I just watched the video game movies on YouTube, and Batfleck moves and fights like his Arkham game counterpart. Very cool. Now I need to get my hands on those prequel comics.

I hope we see old Clark again. I don't hate this new version of him, but it is getting a bit tiresome, like they're trying too hard to make him edgy. I miss the earnest, charmingly old-fashioned farm boy who is very different from his superhero alter ego. If there's no visible difference between Clark and Superman, then those glasses won't keep his secret identity hidden for very long. And what's the point of making Superman dark and gritty anyway? He and Batman are supposed to be opposites, hence Lex's whole day vs. night speech. It's not night vs. night. In all of the trailers they've released, Superman has somehow managed to out-glare Batman, of all people. Let's just hope those trailers have already filled the Super-scowl quota and he'll be less angry for the rest of the movie.

"Batman's bondage dream" XD

I'll take a look at that link you posted. Personally, I love the Beyond the Trailer channel. Grace Randolph's trailer breakdowns are hilarious. All her BvS related videos are great and her enthusiasm is infectious. Sorry, still figuring this site out. I don't know how to insert links yet. Just search for her channel on YouTube.

Oh, and I never noticed Gotham's credits. Good to know Bill Finger's finally getting the credit he deserves.

lol actually this reminds me of a funny review about MoS saying that while Cav-El is damn sexy, "Superman should not smoulder." (And Batfleck's glare seems to come off as more of a pout really :s )

But anyway...

showdown battle elaborate foreplay?

paranoid nightmare bondage dream...

super-glare super-smoulder.

Ahhhh life through fangirl-colored glasses ;p

YAY more links, thank you! I may have already eaten up all my bandwidth for the month though hahaha ^^;

But while we're sharing, check out the Super Cafe videos at How It Should Have Ended! Just Supes and Bats sitting around talking crap about crap - they are somehow adorable on top of being hilarious and informative ;) Here...

S: Dude, I will hug you to your grave!
B: No you won't!
S: Yes I will! We are FRIENDS!

All the other videos in that collection are great as well!
