Training

Dec 17, 2010 21:30

Since it appears that Rikkai require an excessive amount of preparation time when a training schedule is proposed, I suppose I must display your new regime, Kirihara Akaya.

Let me first introduce you to your new best friend.

It is a weight harness, similar in design to those used to train dogs. From when you join me on Saturday night until you return to your own kennel in two weeks time, this belt is never to be removed from your body. If I catch you with it off, you will spend the night scouring every pot on the camp-site until I can use them as a mirror, do you understand?

For the first seven days, your training schedule will be as follows:

6:00 AM: A match against myself. You will be ready to play at this time, being fully stretched, warmed up and standing on the court. I expect you to be already competent at completing those tasks, unless your education to-date has been even more amiss that I could have anticipated. I also except you to have washed. I will not have my nose affronted so early in the day.

8:00 AM: Swimming around the island. For the first hour, you will use only your legs. For the second, your arms.

10:00 AM: Circuit training. This will be a cycle of push ups, pull ups, leg extensions, lateral raises and tripcep pressdowns.

11:30 AM: Wash. Everywhere. Until you are suitably clean with your hair in a style that resembles a serious tennis player, not a bush girl, you will not be allowed lunch.

12:00 PM: Lunch.

12:30 PM: Balance and precision training. You will negotiate a path through the jungle while remaining at all times a minimum of two feet above the ground.

2:30 PM: Sand bucket drill. This is not to be done along the flat, but climbing to and from the tennis courts.

4:00 PM: Power serve drill. You will knock down coconuts from the palm trees with your serve. Once they are on the ground, you will stand a minimum of 80 ft away and attempt to break their husk.

5:00 PM: Wash. The same rules apply as for lunch.

5:30 PM: Dinner

6:00 PM: Balance and learning. You will stand on one foot on an elevated beam while reading from "The Book of Good Manners; a Guide to Polite Usage for All Social Functions". Twenty minutes on each foot at one time.

8:00 PM: Run around the outside of the island.

9:30 PM: Wash.

10:00 PM: Sleep.

There will be two exceptions to this schedule. The first will be on Wednesday, where you will perform Yukimura's activity sheet instead. Since you believe yourself to be superior to Hiyoshi, I expect you to increase his performance by at least a factor of 1.5. The second will be on Friday, where you will draw up your own training work-out for the day. You have spoken often on the subject of Hyoutei's relaxed regime, so I anticipate your own design to reflect the work you would normally be putting in.

Based on your performance on Saturday morning's game, I will adjust the following week's schedule accordingly.

I will echo my fellow captain's rules regarding liaisons with Hiyoshi during these two weeks. I also do not expect to see you in yellow. Your new hygiene standards will be such that sweat and urine marks no longer need to blend with your wardrobe.

Seiichi, I will see you on Saturday. Shall we say 6 pm?

the rikkai child, only tennis, yukimura, prowess
