ITEM! i was pleased that the foraging-obsessed league of gentlemen reject didn't get through to this week's quarter final in last nite's masterchef - tho i wanted the lady with the moustache to win rather than the mad hatter - hopefully TOAD & THE VEG MAN will be getting their own buddy movie soon ala freebie & the bean or holmes & yoyo where they fight the goob fight against badly cooked "paarstaar" & dodgy chocolate fondants - john torode = the eye candy who gets all the girls, while greg wallace holds up a leathery overcooked steak & sez "it doesn't get tougher than this...!" - charles "the trencherman" campion cld be their huggy bear
ITEM! i watched the last hour or so of the 1970 flick of CROMWELL ( w/richard harris in the title role & alec guinness as charles i ) on bbc2 on saturday afternoon - & most enjoyable it was too - among the all star cast i was pleased to spot sid james's son mike from bless this house as the prince of wales ( - robin stewart is the actor's name ) - i always liked him & don't recall ever seeing him in anything else - & he was cruelly bumped off the movie version of bless this house in favour of that gurning buffoon robin askwith
