real gritty honesty

this is a poem my friend katy wrote a while back and i just found it and i liked it....enjoy.

Untitled by Katy Jovin

where are the poems about all the ugly in the world?

i want to read poems about
materialism
consumerism
capitalism
voyeurism
fanaticism
racism
necro-eroticism

i want to read about how you don't brush your teeth every night and how you only shower every other day and how sometimes you touch yourself while thinking about children or animals or uncle henry and how you think that african american person down the street needs to learn his fucking place because this was a nice neighborhood before they started letting just anybody in.

tell me about the time you and your drunk college buddies went cat hunting with the front bumper of your jetta (and did you know that the jetta was voted the gayest car made? i didn't even know cars fucked) and then found a kegger and a few beersluts and so what if they were mostly unconscious? they would have let you do it anyway. everyone knows that.

tell me about that prostitute you visit twice a week

the one your wife doesn't know about

the one who ties you down with leather straps and makes you beg for it because he's the only one who really knows what you need.

someone write me a fucking poem that reveals all your dirty secrets

if it doesn't make you cry in shame and pray for a universal mercy, then you did it wrong and i don't want to fucking read it.

i need that real, gritty honesty that makes me feel sane

because nothing makes me feel more normal than the secret lives of the rest of you fucked up fuckers.
