This is interesting. A foreign born woman who marries a Saudi man can gain Saudi citizenship through her husband, but she has to give up any other citizenships. Now there is a new law which says if she divorces her Saudi husband she can be stripped of her Saudi citzenship, leaving her stateless. Saudi Arabia isn't a signatory to the UN Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons so basically any woman in this situation is going to be in a very precarious position indeed.
