[The screaming, the growing paranoia, the inability to leave... it's just like Rapture again. Just add a few drops of water and rusting metal all about, bloody bits on the walls and the whispering, whispering of insanity and you have the city in a bottle, as it were. So of course, this affects our dear Mister Sinclair, bringing back some serious, ( Read more... )

[Oh hey, guess who is just walking by Sinclair's room? It's his old friend, Doctor Lamb! She has no intention of entering his room at this particular moment, but she is yelling loud and clear to make sure he can hear her.]

Can you hear her, Sinclair? This is what you did! This is what you and Delta and-

[She cuts herself off, laughing, almost cackling, although it might not be loud enough for Sinclair to hear. Granted, she may be a lot calmer than many of the residents, but her crazy is certainly on par, you see, somebody has been confusing anti-anxiety meds with candy since the event started and might be just a little bit off.]

They were all screaming just like that.

[Her voice makes him twitch. He almost pulls himself out of this little coma, but he can't - her very being near him is enough to send him deeper. His breath stops for just a moment, and he can see their little faces.] ....n-no. [And he falls back into nothing again.]

[Lamb of course has no idea what is going on inside, nor does she really care in her current state.]

You refuse to protect her, Sinclair! She is dying alone, because of you! Everyone...

[Here, have some additional crazy laughter on the house.]

Everyone here is dying alone, Sinclair!

No. [He's starting to kick-back - before it was the fear of her that sent him into his little coma, and now that she's here his survival instinct is kicking in.] No, no. [He leans forward, puts his hands over his ears, trying to block her out. Jack said she wouldn't come. Jack said.]

[Lamb keeps laughing as she turns to leave, however when she does her hand accidentally touches the door handle and opens it, sending her not so much walking as falling into the room.

She tries to adjust her eyes to the darkness and soon spots Sinclair sitting on the bed. This is the first time since her... since his... since their death that she sees him again. For a long time she just stares. Then:]

You look awful.

[He looks down at her slowly, the noise and sudden movement catching his attentions immediately. There's a sort of horrible mix of fear and the utmost absolute loathing in his eyes. He just sort of stares back at her - as she has always had video, he'd already known how worn she looked -, his breathing shallow.

Then, she speaks. And for a moment, he's quiet and still staring.

And then he's moving, pushing up, stepping over and reaching down to grab her, aiming to throw her further into the room, towards a wall.]

[On a good day Lamb may have had a better fighting chance. On a pumped full of meds to avoid a nervous breakdown day? Not so much. When Sinclair grabs her she is immediately thrown off balance and falls forward, hitting her upper arm on the bed hard.

She quickly turns around and tries to pull herself up, staring at Sinclair who is now standing between her and the door.]

[He reaches into the closet, pulls out a wrench - in the front, his mind is blank, but somewhere in the back he's thinking of Jack. Sinclair turns towards Lamb, holding the wrench tightly, almost resolute in his decision to destroy her. He stands over her and for a moment, an insane smile crosses his face. Without aiming, he swings the wrench.]

[Lamb was almost to her feet when Sinclair takes a swing at her, hits her shoulder and throws her back hard. The falls knocks the air out of her, making it impossible to do anything but groan in pain.

Eyes still fixed on Sinclair in panic she pushes herself away from him with her legs until she feels her back pressed against a wall.]

[He keeps driving her back and keeps swinging, a mindless reaction. The swings start getting harder, more concentrated. He wants to hurt her. He wants to kill her.

And then the voice in the back speaks up again and he thinks of Jack. Jack wouldn't kill her. Jack would let her live. Sinclair stops, midswing, wrench paused in the air, and just stares at Lamb.]

[Lamb's covered her face with her hands to protect it from the blows and it takes for the pain to dull down to notice that Sinclair's stopped swinging.

Her mind flashes to images of the Little Sisters, of Grace, Alexander, Stanley even. She waits for the final blow, but when it doesn't come she lowers her hands slowly and when she looks up at Sinclair there's venom in her eyes.]

Delta made it look so much easier, didn't he?

[He stares at her for a long time, breathing hard, the wrench above his head. Then, he slowly straightens up, dropping the wrench beside her. The only reason she's alive now, he thinks, is for Jack. He steps away, looking at her in disgust.] Get out. [His voice is hoarse.] Get out of my room. [He turns away, fumbles for his cigarettes.]

[It may be the pain or it may be the need to process why there isn't a wrench stuck in her head yet, but Lamb doesn't move for what seems like an eternity.

Finally pulling herself up proves to be more difficult than she thought and when she takes a few steps she thinks she's going to fall down again. Instead she just stops, with her back to Sinclair, her hand in her bag, standing silently like that... yet another eternity.

Then she takes out a pack of cigarettes, lights one and walks away, not bothering to close the door behind her.]

[It's a long time before he closes the door, moving to the bed. He takes off his shoes, moving stiffly, and sets them next to the wrench before turning and curling up on the bed, back to the camera.]
