Et tu, Giorgio?

How could you do it to me, George?  Call that nonentity Prodi and congratulate him on his election victory?  What election victory?  Has no one been reading what I've been saying for days now?  It was fraud, fraud, and more fraud!  Or do you feel that the manner in which he is stealing my office gives you something in common with him?!?

See, isn't this fun? Though I think we'll have to get the accent down - rather, accent or accentless? Unless we don't mind the 'many faces of Silvio'?

This was my post (fooled you, Jen!), and I can't write Silvio with an accent. Over-the-top florid, absolutely, but no accent when it's me writing him. I think it makes him too much of an Italian caricature (maybe the fact that I'm Italian on my mother's side has something to do with it). Oh, and since I've actually studied Italian, you can expect "my" Silvio to occasionally use it. ;-)

Should we identify ourselves when we post as him to avoid confusion? Maybe just a "J", "K", or "T" in the subject line or at the end of the post?

And yes, I think it's going to be great fun. Especially since our other characters (well, not Dominique, of course) are rather buttoned-up. ("Cold fish" could apply to Angie as much as to Vlad, I expect.)

What is Silvio, really, if not an Italian caricature? Latest news... I was thinking about the initials idea, but I suppose now we'll be able to figure out who it is... I was just impressed by the Marbella comment - I thought for SURE it was Tavi, lol! ... Yes, but the press hasn't actually _called_ Angie a 'cold fish'... yet... But you're right, he's at least certain to liven things up!

Vlad! Remember where this is discussion is taking place, and that people might be watching. Be careful what you say, and try not to let him provoke you. He's like Dominique; he doesn't care what he says, and he snaps his fingers at the world's opinion of him. That isn't you...

*frowns* I... I didn't mean that. There's nothing. *glares off into the distant* *falls silent*

And if I don't? He wants to be President. I have money. That ought to be simple enough for even you to understand, caro Vladimiro.

*supresses a shudder* *with attempted casualness* Well, then I suppose you'll have to 'negotiate' that with him...

I do not need your money, Silvio. You should hold onto it as best you can. Particularly given your upcoming troubles...

And even if I did need ze money, I wouldn't do you any favours. You disgust me.

I wouldn't do you any favours

Well, of course you have to say that now. Vladimiro is watching.

You disgust me

There's a saying, caro mio, that in the dark all cats are grey. Remember it.

That's not what Jacques tells me. What? Did you think when I was massaging the tension out of his shoulders that we were only talking about our little spat over Suez?

Oh? What did he tell you, zen? And don't blame Jacques for Suez. As you know, zat was all me. *smirks*

What did he tell me? Oh, I think we should have that conversation in private. It was ... fascinating, though. I had a difficult time falling asleep that night.

***********

I may have to do some negotiating of my own with Jen about Silvio's icons. I think I need to have a Silvio/Dominique one available for conversations like these
