Winter Adventures Part II

So after returning from Japan, I had to work for two days, then it was off to California for Christmas. I returned home Christmas Eve, spent it with my mother, drove back home Christmas Day, worked three days then it was off again for Berlin, Germany. I calculated that in the last three weeks alone, I've spent over 45 hours on an airplane, not counting airport time (which was a LOT).

Berlin was really incredible. I'm a history major so I loved seeing Berlin's various layers of history and all the monuments and buildings which reflect each of those layers. It was very cold there for a born and raised Southerner, but I was prepared after visiting Prague last winter. My friend and I did a bunch of toursity things which I'm not used to, things like taking a guided tour. I'm glad we did though, I learned so much that I would not have known otherwise. New Years was absolutely insane, over a million people (more than in New York City!) stood around the Brandenburger Tor shooting off fireworks and drinking from wine bottles. It is definitely a New Years celebration I'll never forget.

Anyway, I love to travel but I also love to come home. Three weeks of various time zones, food, cultures, and activities have really taken their toll on me and and my body and I'm considering myself lucky that I got away this month with only a light cold and not something more serious.
