Decisions, decisions
I've almost definitely made my mind up to start my travels through Asia in Bangkok...er...probably...It's just so ridiculously cheap to fly there...I mean, a return ticket for £350??!! Yes, I know, I know...I've said a million times how much I detest Thailand; I've been there 3 times now, & been worse each time - it's expensive, it's like everyone under the age of 30 goes there with a head full of "The Beach" & thinks they're Leonardo god-damn-de Caprio; it's impossible to get away from the 'back-packer/tourist trail'; it's Theme Park Asia ...
And BANGKOK ?!?! FORGET T!! Even passing through that hell-hole gives me nightmares...It's even worse then Tangeir for hustlers...I'll never, ever go back there. EVER...etc etc blah blah... *sigh* Never say 'never' I guess...Sorry for sounding like half a Bond film...
Well, there was at least ONE happy moment on my last trip to Thailand...in Kanchenaburi at the Bamboo House...
So, it looks like it'll be about 15-16 weeks traveling (coming home a bit before Christmas, though I've no idea why as neither me nor My Fiasco, Aubrey, can stand the whole damn hoo'enanny, & I have no family who celebrate 'it', nor would I want one...think I just worked out that 3 months would be a reasonable period?)
Besides, it's a great central location to explore the rest of Asia...Cambodi, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia...Right ?? I have a question, though, for anyone who might know...The last couple of times, I got my visas (single entry ones) I was living in London, so it was easy to get to & from the Thai Embassy in Kensington...
This time, though, I'm living outside Manchester...Can I get a visa in Manchester? And, as I'll be leaving Thailand (quickly, I hope !!) to move around Asia, then returning there to fly home again 3+ months later, should I get a multiple entry Tourist visa? Does such a thing even exist? And how long can I stay on a tourist visa in the first place? Is it 15 or 30 days?
Hope someone knows...I've got a lotta work to do in the next 51 days if I'm gonna get going on the 13th of September...
