NEW YEAR NEW YEAR NEW YEAR NEW YEAR!
And a busy year it's been so far. I've still managed to find time to finish rereading my Dan Brown books, as well as read Shopaholic Takes Manhattan and The Guardian that I got for Christmas. Oh, and met with my fellow coordinators and (tonight) DESIGN TEAM to continue planning for SPRING YOUTH OH SIX! SYC 2006: Lost and Found--It's going to be a great conference. We had some really good ideas flowing tonight, and I'm of course excited to bust out all new games leading the improv workshop and bust out something for the VARIETY SHOW! What should I do? Song? Monologue? Skit? Ideas? Anyway, hope everyone's holiday was wonderful like mine (except I was horribly sick on Christmas Eve, which is never fun).
Two of my scarves sold at O'Kennedy's! CHECK FOR MEG! Literally. Money is goooood.
Cantabile sang at the eleven o'clock service at Duke Chapel last Sunday, which was fantastical. It's, dare I say it, better than singing in the really big cathedrals in Europe (except for the being in Europe part) because the echo actually comes back to you instead of getting lost in all the space (ie, Notre Dame). It was B-E-A-yew-tee-ful, if I do say so myself. If you wanna hear us, head to www.chapel.duke.edu PLUS...we got our lullaby CDs! We recorded a CD called "Lullabies & Slumber Songs" for the hospital to put in the care packages they send home with new moms, and we got to order copies. YAY!
Finals are coming up, and that's a complicated situation. My drama exam is the only one I can exempt, but all we have to do is perform a sonnet, which I've already memorized, and I wanna see my freshmen buddies before I don't have class with them anymore. They make me feel old, but they make me giggle. Most of our dance exam comes from the winter concert that was a MONTH ago, and a little bit from the juries we just did, which went horribly but I think I'll get a decent score on. Both my AP classes are only half-way done, so we're taking midterms, both in two parts on different days BEFORE exam days...but at least we don't have to be at school next Friday until after lunch. Then our choreography final grade comes from our choreography final project, which we are showcasing on FRIDAY! Everyone please come or die horrible deaths. Not really, but I will do my best to make sure your life is terribly inconvenienced for a while. All in all, I'll basically be coming to school for almost no reason two days of next week. Once we finish our sonnets in drama on Thursday we'll do...oh...nothing for the rest of the three-hour block. Maybe improv games. Then we'll probably have a party in dance, but I still have to be there all two-and-a-half hours. Not that I wouldn't want to be there to party, but I could do other stuff, too. Friday we don't have to come in the morning due to the crazy AP scheduling, but i still have to go party with my choreography class in the afternoon. I don't know for sure that we won't do anything in choreography, though, because we haven't really had time to talk about things like that. It's CRUNCH TIME! Three more days!
