My mother is making me go to a stupid PSAT prep thing...does that not seem REDUNDANT? It's supposed to help boost your score without you actually having to know more, to help you qualify for National Merit. I personally don't give a damn whether or not I get National Merit, because it's not likely I will, even if I qualify, but I'm not the one paying for my effing college education.
ANYWAYS...
Pippin rehearsal this afternoon--worked on opening and VERY CONFUSING finale for two friggin hours, then I sat around for the next two doing nothing. Okay, so I ran my song ONCE...big whoop.
Youth group--was too late for dinner, of course, so I was STARVING. Played some stupid games, some tedious and boring games, and some cool games, too. Talked about senior high retreat...which would be really exciting IF I COULD GO. Alas...
Home--fighting with mother, yadda, yadda, yadda. Peggy got out, gave me the worst effing fright. Found her under our deck, and she wouldn't come out for ages. That darn cat.
The only thing good about my day was that I got to go out to the Summit, even if it was only for about half an hour. We went to pick up my sister from Fall Middlers, but we were early (THANK GOD). I caught the closing prayer and jumping around during the final songs of the conference. EXCELLENT. I got to see all my high school friends on staff, some of the middle schoolers I know who were participating, and, OF COURSE...Xen the Coordinator Man. The theme was so cute...The Magic of One...and they tied Harry Potter in everywhere. The staff members were all characters from the books/movies, and Xen was Lord Voldemort. He let/made me try on his cape. How cool is THAT? My sister made me a magic wand, and advertised my conference in the spring. How cute is SHE? *sigh* That was a good half an hour.
OH...and Machinal was FAN-tastic, by the way. I highly recommend it if you have a spare night this weekend. I believe it's running Wednesday through Saturday this week...then closing. :( I definitely loved it. It was hilarious in parts, and super intense in others. When critiquing, though, you must bear in mind the significance it had when it was written (1928). Otherwise you might just think it was weird.
