“It’s still hard for me to believe that I fell for someone who doesn’t like football.”
Elizabeth snuggled closer to John. “Your first wife didn’t like football either.” There was a time that talking about his ex-wife would have made John clam up, but that was in the past. Being happy seemed to help with that.
“Yeah, and I swore I would never make that mistake again.” John smiled and then gestured toward the TV with his puppy dog face, or at least the one he thought was his puppy dog face.
“Very well, John Sheppard, you go ahead and watch your little game.” Elizabeth slid off the bed and headed for the other room.
Knowing that he couldn’t push his luck and ask Elizabeth to bring him some chips, John waited for a commercial and then made a beeline for the kitchen. Coming to a standstill, John wondered if his heart was beating out of his chest like those old Bugs Bunny cartoons. There stood Elizabeth in an apron, and nothing else.
“Looking for these?” Elizabeth sashayed toward him with a bag of chips in her hands.
“To hell with the chips!” John pulled Elizabeth to his body loving the feel of her silky skin.
“But John, what about your football game?” Elizabeth purred as she pushed her body even closer to his, the chips abandoned on the floor.
“What football game?”
Soon an assortment of cloths, including an apron joined the chips on the floor.
