Even if you're old.

It wasn't really the right thing to do.

And hey. You don't get it both ways.

well, he might not mention the kid thing but >_> sapanwood November 30 2009, 01:01:49 UTC
Why not? She was dying, right? Sometimes the right things change in different situations.

I'm joking.

Not everybody would be that understanding. But it didn't turn out too bad in the end.

So was I.

I mean, it's not like you loved her. It didn't look like it, anyway.

... Did she live?

I thought she was a very brave little girl. She had a terminal illness, which means she was too sick for anybody to fix her. We managed to give her a little more time than she would have got, but that was all.

Mm. She didn't look scared at all, even if it must have all been frightening.

I'm sure you tried your best.

She'd been undergoing scary medical procedures since she was five. You get used to hospitals when you've been in them half your life.

Can you really get used to something like that?

You can get used to almost anything if you're stuck with it long enough. Look at this place.

I don't think that's true.

I have to go home.

... And there's a lot of things a person can't get used to.

I have to go home, too. I'm told home hangs on until we're done here.

Like what?

Even so, I can't stand waiting. It's like sitting in class waiting for the bell to ring.

That feeling when you eat ice cream too fast. Or boys.

... I don't think you could get used to hurting someone.
