There's something 'with' a few of the people the City's let in this week.

It's nice, in a way---a chance for the people...stuck...here to reconnect with the people that they miss.

Well, that's assuming that those people aren't already here, of course.

That part is nice. I haven't said goodbye to many people, but I know enough who have.

Saying goodbye even once can be...difficult in its own way.

Anyway. I wanted to thank you for the...idea to look into work with the hospital. I hadn't even thought of switching venues...I honestly don't know why I didn't.

So, yes. Thank you.

The position was open, I thought you'd fit. It's probably the only place in the city you'll find a group of children willing to sit still and listen.

Children can be surprisingly attentive, but I definitely see what you mean, especially in a...a place like this.

It does seem easier for most people to um keep moving, sort of...a constant source of self-distraction. Listening to someone else's advice would certainly get in the way of...that.

[ pause ]

The hospital, at least, is a contained environment...closer to what I'm used to anyway.

Nothing can stay in motion forever. When something forces you to come to a stop, and a stay in hospital is a good example, that's when you need something else to focus on. Even if it's just another distraction. Probably why anybody here bothers working at all.

I guess it depends on what kind of motion, and what kind of person, but in general I think that's true too. People like to...find some level of constancy. Comfort.

[ very light clearing of throat ]

Anyway, um, thank you again. I can honestly say that I think this will be...extremely helpful to me.

More than I can-- want to-- explain, at least.
