He felt numb.

He knew he shouldn't have feel so hard for her, she'd been perfect. No she still was perfect. She just didn't love him.

That's what her friend had said. Amongst other things. The other things didn't matter though, he'd caught that sort of hell before from Drew. But eventually through lots of talking they saw one anothers points and left it at that. Eli had a feeling that the other would never feel that way, but that was okay. Eli wasn't about to ask the other to change his opinion on something he felt strongly about. He wasn't one of those Catholics.

But what did matter was what he'd said about Gabrellia. He loved Gabriella, it was probably to early to say things like that. But he really did love her, he knew that because all he wanted to do was curl up in a ball and die. Whih was more or leas what he was doing now. Well atleast until biggie came over and demanded in his lap.

"I should call her right?" He asked his cat who responded with a dull mew as he so often did. "I mean, cause... I should call her." He dug in his pocket looking for her number, though he already knew it by heart. Though, he didn't get her just her voicemail he debated not leaving a message. But he had to he knew he had to.

"Hey gab.. Uh, Gabriella. I just... I talked to your friend today and, he well, said some stuff. I guess, I just wanted to leave you a message and say I can't blame you. I love you, but I must be hard, I work a lot and I guess I think to old world for you and your friends. I can deal with a one sided love, so long as you know that, I do love you. I don't think I've ever loved someone as much as I love you. But, I can't, I don't wanna be 'that guy' again, so rather then something end badly, cause I'd rather you know..." his voice was shaking badly now and he had to end this before he did somehow really stupid. Like cry on her voicemail, cause he really wanted to do that.

"Hopefully I'll uh, get to talk to you soon. I'll always love you Gabby. Just... Know that." He didn't have it in him to say goodbye, so he didn't. He just hung up and grabbed biggie burying his head in the cats fur and for the first time in twenty something years. He cried.
