okay, so my pc has been attacked by the Aurora spam / virus / pop-up annoyance thing. i get a lot of pop-ups that say "Aurora - part of the ABI Network". last week i accidentally "closed" a pop-up (i use firefox, so i shouldn't get these things in the first place!). when i closed the pop-up using the little "x", i didn't realize the "x" was part ( Read more... )

a good program to clear your computer of that crap is lavasoft ad-aware. if you can't find it anywhere on the net i'll send it to you over aim.

when you get an ad, it usually works just to either right click on the ad in your bar and close it or close in ctrl+alt+del.

i actually have ad-aware, and i just recently checked for updates and performed the system scan. actually, i just did it earlier this evening, and i'm running ad-aware again.. and already 22 new objects have been found. i guess ad-aware is picking up most of the spam on my computer, but it's not totally wiping out aurora, so the spam keeps coming back.. ahhhhhhh. thanks for the tip though!

have you tried searching your add/remove lise for anything you don't know (or just anything that says it's straight up aurora?). sometimes they sneak that crap in there.

probly now very helpful, but worth a shot
