I now know the reason I was culturally deprived as a kid and not brought up on the staple diet of elton john's music (along with the givens of david cassidy and the carpenters that were oh so present in my childhood)
So one time my Mum and Dad went to an Elton John concert and as is natural because the man is a genius they had a fab time.
That is, untill they got back to the friends house that they were staying at and discovered that their (my mum and dad's) dog had been run over and died...
My mum went off Elton John after that. Oddly enough. (Oo-er)
However, my Dad dug up two of his old albums for me and My new mission over the next few weeks is to educate myself with the music. Then hopefully I can go to one of his concerts and know the songs!
