poem i wrote for class
Dogs
A dog will look into your eyes
and know everything that is troubling you
and how to make it better.
A dog will wait eagerly for you to come home
by the back door with its ears focused
keenly for the sound of the garage door.
A dog will welcome your friends
with kisses and kind-hearted, dirty paw prints on their clothes
but sense when someone is not on your good side
and let them know that they aren’t welcome.
They watch over you as a guardian angel
with fur and drool and a wagging tail.
Nothing else is more important
than your happiness and comfort
to a dog.
