The food was poisoned. It had to be.

This isn't happening. Whatever this is, it isn't happening. Isabel pulls against the ropes of beads that have been wrapped around her arms and legs, but it is pointless. Jamie has had one of her minions tie them too tightly.

This has to be the most creative way that her arch nemesis has tried to kill her yet.

The other woman is clearly enjoying the torture far too much. She positively beams at Isabel, who will later swear that it didn't scare her in the slightest, even though the only other expressions she had ever seen on Jamie's face were smirks or glares.

"Would you like some more turkey?" she asks brightly - or rather, in the way that someone who has never spoken 'brightly' in their life might speak, should the tone be described to them. She holds up a fork with a morsel of the food (obviously it must be poisoned - no other explanation is likely) on it and offers it towards her victim.

She must have created a new poison, Isabel thinks as she chews. They usually have at least some taste.

Her captor turns back to her own plate and Isabel takes the chance to look at the room properly.

The last time she was here, it was to stop Jamie from releasing a new bacterium into the air; one that would have started something similar to a zombie apocalypse. Then, the place had been cold and dark and looked every part the stereotypical evil villain's lair, including the random minions with guns standing around, looking menacing.

Now though... Now, there was a Christmas tree (with tinsel, lights, a fairy and oh my god, she really has gone insane). There were lights strung up around the room, blinking on and off, revealing dark patches of - actually, she didn't even want to think about what is on the walls and floor. She wondered what was going through her enemy's mind because minions are meant to be menacing and they can't be menacing if they are wearing hideous red and green jumpers, even if they have guns. Although, guns tend to looks a bit less scary when they have tinsel wound around them.

The horror of that, however, was outdone by what was directly in front of her. Several benches had been pushed together and a long white sheet thrown over them. Jamie clearly thought that this would be the plan that would finally kill her as the benches were weighed down with more food than the two of them could ever eat.

(She wonders how Jamie could be eating the food, as it must be laced with poison, but soon comes to the conclusion that she must have immunized herself against it.)

It must start working soon, she knows. Hopefully she won't have to endure this for much longer. Either the poison takes effect, or her friends rescue her from this vile woman.

Who knew that evil would wear a paper crown?
