A/N: This is the last fic in the 8 Synch series. Well, at least for all the individual member ones anyway. If When Uchi returns, I think I'll end up writing a huge chapter to end this 8 Synch series. Or something 8Dv
At the beginning, it was you and Hina and Subaru and all three of you argued and fought and laughed and cried together, and it was a brotherhood of three idiots. (You were there when Hina was still a messy messy teenager who didn’t clean up the room and you were there when Subaru cooked breakfast in the morning and yelled at you for mooching off his omuraisu.)
As time went by, your family expanded. Ryo with his cute chibi looks and high-pitched voice but with an aura that nobody wanted to mess around with; Maru with his toothy smile and his quirky antics; Yasu with his gentle ways and his concern for other people (you still can’t believe that even though he was the one who fell off the stage onto you, he asked whether you were alright first); Uchi with his endearing smile and mischievous tricks that no one suspected; Ohkura and his quiet daydream landscapes that he often wanders off to.
To you, each and every member brings something special to Kanjani8, without which, it wouldn’t be Kanjani8. It’s more than just 8 people being put together in a group. After all, anyone can just dump 8 people together but whether or not they can find it within themselves to work with and accept one another and enjoy each other’s company and grow together is another thing completely.
In Kanjani8, you think that maybe you’re the most ordinary out of them - you don’t play any instruments unlike Ohkura or Maru or Yasu; you didn’t enter high school (because those were hard times when you Kansai Jr.s were set on the backburner and you worked at a construction site and came to dance rehearsals already sweaty and tired and with dirt in your hair); you haven’t been cast in numerous dramas like Ryo; you don’t have a voice that can blast the audience out of their seats like Subaru (both you and Hina jokingly agree that you could blast the audience out of their seats - but that would be them running away from the concert hall); you aren’t model-type pretty as Uchi.
You think maybe you’re the most ordinary one - but this doesn’t bother you.
It doesn’t matter if Yasu dresses up like a girl or if Ohkura spaces out in the middle of an interview or if Maru is sometimes sickeningly cheerful because these elements are the individual traits of each of the members and together, they make up what Kanjani8 embodies.
Because in Kanjani8, it’s not about one-upping each other, or about who sings better than the others, or who gets more dramas or who is smarter.
It’s about working hard and crying together and laughing twice as much through all the good times and the bad times and growing old together with the 7 idiots who are your family.
